Let's discuss the latest updates in the case of missing Charlotte Sena, who is believed to have been abducted. 9-year-old Charlotte Sena was last seen on September 30th, 2023 at approximately 6:15PM when she went for a bike ride in Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County, New York. She was last seen wearing a tie-dye Pokémon shirt, dark blue pants, black crocs, and a grey bike helmet. She 4ft6, approximately 90lbs, and is described as a trusting girl by her mom. In addition, Bobette leads workshops on “How to Tell Your Story So the World Listens” to corporations in-house, including Google (Dublin, London), the BBC, and Animation Ireland. Bobette discovered her passion for storytelling while gathering the oral history of her Kentucky family’s and their neighbors’ Revolutionary War Land Grant farms heritage, a collection now housed in the Kentucky Museum Archives. She holds a BS Speech from Northwestern University (Evanston) and an MFA from the University of Southern California’s Peter Stark Producing Program. She worked as a creative story executive in Hollywood for Tony Scott, Ray Stark and Larry Gelbart, while also creating the first MFA course for Feature Film and Television Development at USC, where she was an Adj. Despite humanity’s technological developments and will to progress, we’re still utterly dependent on nature. Human effort has its limitations and is always in conjunction with nature. We cannot grow a plant, for example, completely isolated from natural growth, even though we can influence and manipulate it. The reputed author of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu, stated that the world governs itself. It doesn’t need our intervention. As Lao Tzu wrote: “When you arrive at non-action, nothing will be left undone.” End quote. This idea resembles the basic understanding of the paradoxical concept “wu-wei.” But when we look for a definition of wu-wei, we quickly discover that there isn’t one fixed meaning. Some translate wu-wei as “non-action,” or “doing nothing,” others as “actionless action,” and others as “effortless action.” We find out that Taoism offers several layers, if you will, regarding how wu-wei can enhance our relationship with the world. And how this ancient art of “letting things happen” doesn’t necessarily make us passive, ignorant bystanders but can actually improve how we act, leading to better outcomes. Yeah, you might be addicted to your phone, but it could end up saving your life in an emergency! You can call 911 in North America or 112 in Europe even if the phone is blocked, deactivated, or it has no sim card inside! But let’s go a little more extreme. Imagine your phone has run out of power. If you can’t use it as intended, then just take it apart! A smartphone is full of survival treasures: the screen, wires, battery, chips. All of them will make your life much easier if you’re alone in the wilderness with nothing but a dead phone in your hand. It’ll immediately glow red-hot, so your time is limited! - Use the screen to reflect sun- or moonlight. It’ll show your location on a map so that your loved ones know where you are and how to find you. - Emergency apps like SOS+ let you push an alarm button on your phone so that all the people in your emergency contact list will know that something has happened to you. - There’s an app called SaveMePro that lets you call 911 without having to actually dial the number! - If you’re heading to the mountains, be sure to download the Uepaa! The app that lets your smartphone work as a transmitter that sends a signal for up to 1,500 ft. - Facebook Safety Check works automatically if you have the Facebook app on your phone. The app determines if you’re in a disaster zone and sends you a special request. But why are phone screens made of glass, and not something harder to crack like plastic? Plastic is more resilient than glass when dropped. No, don’t be so relaxed to the point you end up unexpectedly spending AGAIN when you’re so close to your goal! - If you’ve got a long delay and it’s time to eat, try to figure out where the airport cafeteria is. I’m talking about the one where employees go. Even if it’s far from your departure gate, it’s still worth it. - Airport currency exchange booths – how convenient! But you’ll pay the price for such a convenience. - Don’t rush into that souvenir shop either! Again, wait until you get settled in the city or wherever you’re vacationing. - Alright, it’s time to head back home from your European vacation. Did you manage to get lots of goodies to bring back home? Those purchases likely included the standard VAT (or Value Added Tax). Don’t forget to go to the VAT Refund Counter at the airport!
