I love dashboards...ever since seeing the LCARS and Okudagrams in Star Trek, I've wanted to have visual representations of ...anything. But what I didn't expect is that people have been building some amazingly beautiful..but also useful...home dashboards for everything from power usage to climate monitoring to computer health and more. In this video I'll show a tutorial of how to get the basics up. I cut it down aggressively with the intent of making every minute of it as informative and useful as possible (though it does have a bit of an abrupt ending). This video builds on the ecobee tutorial to get 5 temperature sensors added, however you can use any temperature sensor or data source that you want for this.

Statistics in Home Assistant with InfluxDB and Grafana


Thank you for watching. In this video we will set up statistics monitoring using the InfluxDB database engine and the Grafana dashboard. Home Assistant by default only retains 10 days of statistical data, it is recommended not to increase this. If you need to access statistical data beyond this, it can be recorded in a separate database. InfluxDB is ideal for this. You can host this on a database internal to your Home Assistant installation, or on a separate database server. To keep things simple, we are using the InfluxDB addon from the addon store.
