The Chevy SS came out like a slightly bigger, slightly cheaper, Australian E39 M5. But how did it compare to the legendary BMW? Well, I borrowed a friend's E39, put a knock-off Ace of Base cassette in the M5, did a burnout, and found out. This was a fun one. Especially once I got to Willow Springs and made Randy Pobst lap them both — the M5 had brand-new Konis on it, but one was defective out of the box. Watching Randy manage that handicap was awesome.
