This is just a quick tutorial on how to setup your Gimp for pixel-art. Sorry for the accent, English is not my native.
In this GIMP 2.10 tutorial, I show you how to create pixel art using the pencil tool and some other techniques! Drawing pixel art in a raster-based graphics software (such as GIMP) is common for things like game design, game art, or general pixel art pieces. I reference a sketch drawing I made in GIMP with a Wacom tablet to help me create the composition. Basic or beginner users will be able to follow this tutorial as I go into depth in each step of the tutorial. More advanced users will be able to use their pixel art to animate or as a sprite for their games. You can also use this method to create art to sell as an NFT. GIMP Tutorial - Pixel Art Hi Everyone, This is Daniel, In this video I'm gonna show you How to Convert a Normal Image into a Pixel Art Image using the free and Open Source Software called GNU Image Manipulation Program abbreviated as GIMP Note: GIMP is the Perfect Alternative for Photoshop. Hence you can try this same method in Photoshop as well Steps: 1. Open your Image in GIMP 2. Scale the Image to 100px 3. Select the Pencil and in the tools option change its hardness to 100% and size to 1 for pixel art 4. Add a Transparent Background and draw the outline and fill the color using color picker and bucket fill tool 5. Add Shadows and Highlights 6. Scale the Image back to its original size with interpolation 'none' That's it. In this step-by-step overview, learn how to use GIMP. We start with how to download and install GIMP. We then explore the interface, including the toolbox, tool options, color selection, docks / tabs, and the menu system. Next, we look at all the options to customize the experience, from resizing docks, to turning on or off single window mode, to changing icon colors, and adjusting the theme from dark to light. We continue by creating a new file and saving it. We then navigate through the canvas using various short cut keys. We then load some sample files, learn about layers, arrange the layers, and apply different opacities. We add text, use the selection tools, align objects, use brushes, filters, and colors.
