btw if you right-click during the chest opening animations you skip to the end directly revealing your loot and gold saving you time.
EDIT: this tip is very subtle but i came across it elsewhere - when you buy power ups start with the most expensive ones always as each purchase makes everything's price scale up so it makes your overall spending less to buy the most expensive stuff first! (that's probably why they allow you to refund all your gold at no penalty)
last tip: you can level up weapons up to 30 times in total, the same for tailsmen, meaning there is a limit to how high you can upgrade your weapons and tailsmen in each run (your max levels reach up to 40 something levels in normal mode, ~100 in hyper mode). you could spread the levels among your six weapons, or focus on getting some to max level to get their special abilities. the more you play the more you'll discover how every weapon and talisman work and then you start building your combos in each run.

It looks like those flowers in the circle are the reason you die almost instantly. The flowers might be the worse option between the mantis and themselves.

If anyone is interested in a free game with similar gameplay, the mobile game Magic Survival has been one that I've been playing for a long time now. I love that game so I might have to check out this one too!

The chests only give you items you already picked up. And when you max out a weapon will give you a legendary upgrade to a weapon if you have the catalyst equipment
Just got this the other day. I’d suggest trying to get the legendary items. Kings Bible is OP
I love this game, there are also legendary weapons and King bible is extremely op (Laurel as well)
