Vlad Yavorskyy and his team travels to Namibia in April 2019. On the road up north to the Epupa Falls, we meet local Himba tribes. The OvaHimba are a semi-nomadic, pastoralist people, culturally distinguishable from the Herero people in northern Namibia and southern Angola, and speak OtjiHimba, a variety of Herero, which belongs to the Bantu family within Niger–Congo. Live feed, from a waterhole in the heart of Namibia Complementing the magnificence of the Namib Desert’s never-ending red sand dunes, Namibia Cam’s waterhole lies within the Gondwana Namib Park - bordering the Namib Naukluft Park. In this park, all man-made barriers have been removed, creating a space over 56,540 square kilometers (meaning 21,830 sq mi) - wildlife moves freely between the two parks and the other privately owned guest farms. In Gondwana Namib Park the Namib experience covers two sides. Three, in fact, as under the reddish sand there is brown sandstone – the fossilised dunes of an ancient Namib. Then there is the World Heritage Site of ‘Namib Sand Sea’, and only 60 km further south, the Namib shows yet another face: the valley of the ephemeral Tsauchab River – which cuts through the surging sand-sea and ends in famed Sossusvlei. But along with the fossilised dunes, Namib Sand Sea and Tsauchab River, a glorious new display has risen. Built in 2006, the special character of this waterhole, has not only an impact on the surrounding wildlife, but stretches across the globe, from home to home. This particular waterhole is situated within an open plain, 8km from Namib Desert Lodge. A solar-powered borehole fills a nearby reservoir and is monitored by a water float that opens as the waterhole’s levels decline. Being situated within a remote destination like the Namib Desert, intermittent interruptions are likely to occur at times. A single strand of fishing line is already strong enough to cut through an animal's skin without difficulty. Braided fishing line takes it to a new level - it is used because it is more durable and longer lasting than other lines. What seems like a great idea for fishing, turns into a horrible death trap for any animal in the ocean, no matter if it's the intended species or just an unlucky bystander, like this seal. While this particular animal is still lucky enough to be found by the OCN rescuers before he was harmed in any way, many others will die as a direct consequence of the massive global fishing industry. 10 Best Places to Visit in Namibia Welcome to Displore and Thanks for watching, In today’s video we are taking you to the land of endless horizons, presenting to you the 10 best places to visit in Namibia. Namibia officially the Republic of Namibia, is a country in Southern Africa. its western border is the Atlantic Ocean, it shares land borders with Zambia and Angola, Botswana and South Africa. Although it does not border Zimbabwe, less than 200 meters of the Zambezi River separates the two countries. Namibia gained independence from South Africa on 21 March 1990, following the Namibian War of Independence. Its capital and largest city is Windhoek, and it is a member state of the United Nations, the Southern African Development Community, the African Union, and the Commonwealth of Nations. If you are new here, welcome, be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss any of our videos. Namibia has a population of 2.6 million people spread over a land area of 825,615km 2and its capital city is Windhoek. The large, arid Namib Desert has resulted in Namibia being overall one of the least densely populated countries in the world but also one of the most visited. Of the many places visitors always crave for in Namibia, here are the 10 best places to visit while in Namibia. 10. Epupa Falls Lying in the border between Angola and Namibia is one of the best places to visit in Namibia in the Kaokoland region, The Epupa Falls. The falls are originated by Kunene river and they cover almost a mile. Even though Epupa Falls are a bit hard to reach owing to limited conveyance options as it is accessible only by4×4 vehicles, the place still is one of the most-loved destinations in Namibia. Surrounding the falls are colored rock formations, palm trees and fig trees. Most travelers who visit Epupa Falls opt to stay overnight in one of the surrounding lodges. If you want to add some adrenaline to your day, you can also try out some whitewater rafting along the river. 9. The Cape Cross Seal Colony Cape Cross is famous for two reasons: seals, and Portuguese exploration. It was at this headland that celebrated Portuguese explorer Diogo Câo landed on the Namibian shoreline in 1486 who was tasked with finding an important trade route around Africa to India by his king. He established his country’s claim to the territory by erecting a stone pillar topped with a cross called a padrâo.At first sight the beach appears blanketed in thick black sand, the wriggling shapes of over 100,000 fur seals only becoming clear as you move closer. This is the world’s largest breeding colony of Cape fur seals, who flock here to mate and take advantage of the rich supply of fish in the currents. Wander along the boardwalk and take in the sights and sounds of this unique community as they frolic in the turquoise water, and warm themselves in the Namibian sunshine. 8. The Fish River and Fish River Canyon The place is a vast and empty land blissfully untroubled by humans. At Fish River Canyon Park, you’ll be able to see one of the largest canyons in Africa and the world known in Afrikaans as the Visrivier Afgronde. The canyon is formed by the Fish River, one of the longest rivers in Africa with a whopping 160kmslong and nearly 30 kms wide, Fish River Canyon is one of the most breathtaking and dramatic Namibia destinations. There are several fantastic ways to view and experience Fish River Canyon Park in person. The landscape is surreal, and the best part is that the canyon has a few hiking trails for those who want to enjoy adventure and the trailscan suit everyone from beginners to experienced hikers. You can also take a scenic flight over the top of the canyon or even go for a swim right in the Fish River.

Yesterday, I arrived in Namibia (my 143rd country!) to start a 10 day tour with G Adventures! But as I've been wandering around the unique capital city of Windhoek, I couldn't help but notice how GERMAN everything feels. Seriously, the culture is bizarre here in Namibia! As I investigated further, I discovered that Namibia was a German colony (from 1884 - 1915), and despite 103 years of separation since the Germans left, their influence is still deeply rooted in Namibian society today. I became so fascinated by this German-Namibian culture, because the vast majority of the world that I've seen has been conquered by either the British, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Dutch... Not the Germans. Here is a fun video I put together today all about my observations on German-influenced Namibia. Just out of curiosity Is this all news to you? Cost of Living in Namibia DISCLAIMER : For Copyright Matters please Contact us directly.... Email Address emmastopten🤍gmail.com. Thanks Hello Displorers, welcome to another informative video presented to you by Displore and thanks for watching. The housing, transportation, education and health cost of any country is a great indication of the cost of living of any country. The cost of living in Namibia is the reflection of the quality of life shown in how much is spent on housing, transport, education and health. That is why in this video, we shall examine the cost of housing, transportation, education and health in Namibia to determine cost of living in the country. But first we need to understand what cost of living really is. The cost of living is the amount of money needed to cover basic expenses such as housing, food, taxes, and healthcare in a certain place and time period. The cost of living is often used to compare how expensive it is to live in one city or country versus another. The cost of living is tied to wages in that if expenses are higher in a country, salary levels must be higher so that people can afford to live in that country. The cost of living can also be a significant factor in personal wealth accumulation because a salary can provide a higher standard of living in a city where daily expenses such as rent, food and entertainment are less but in contrast, a high salary can seem insufficient in an expensive country either ways such. That is why to get a full perspective of the cost of living in any country, the wages or salaries need to be taken into account hence, let’s look at the wage range in Namibia. If you are new here, welcome, be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss any of our videos. An Overview The cost of living in Namibia is very high as Namibia imports about 50% of its cereal requirements. Many other items used in daily life also need to be imported. High transportation costs make prices very high and unaffordable. Monopoly in some business sectors causes higher profit booking, which also results in raising of prices. For example, the price of electricity for domestic consumers in Windhoek for post-paid consumers will include a per unit added with ECB levyper unit and NEF Levy per unit as well. A Fixed Cost based on the load is added to the bill and the Minimum amount is $7.68. the price for 1 litre of water is around $1.01, 1 litre of UHT milk is around $1.01, 1 kg of fresh chicken is around $3 and beef will cost around $6.72 per kg. The cost of making an international call other than neighbouring country is $0.81 per min and internet access is quite expensive. Salaries in Namibia A person working in Namibia typically earns around $1,169 per month as salaries range from $296.16which is the lowest average to $5,232the highest average but actual maximum salary is higher. This is the average monthly salary including housing, transport, and other benefits and salaries vary drastically between different careers. The median salary is$1,169 per month, which means that half of the population are earning less than $1,169 while the other half are earning more than $1,169. If your salary is higher than both of the average and the median then you are doing very well but if your wage is between the average and the median, then cost of living in Namibia. The experience level is the most important factor in determining the salary as well as educational level.Generally speaking, employees having experience from two to five years earn on average 32% more than freshers and juniors across all industries and disciplines.Professionals with experience of more than five years tend to earn on average 36% more than those with five years or less of work experience. As you hit the ten years mark, the salary increases by 21% and an additional 14% for those who have crossed the 15 years mark.Workers with a certificate or diploma earn on average 17% more than their peers who only reached the high school level.Employees who earned a Bachelor's Degree earn 24% more than those who only managed to attain a certificate or diploma.Professionals who attained a Master's Degree are awarded salaries that are 29% more than those with a Bachelor's Degree. Finally, PhD holders earn 23% more than Master's Degree holders on average while doing the same job. Accommodation in Namibia Accommodation is the most expensive part of living in Namibia from hotels to apartments. You can pay around $100 a night in low season for hotel, and up to double that when the tourists arrive. Namibia is experiencing a housing crisis and is putting up strategies currently to reduce the problem. Increasing demand escalates prices, meanwhile the country’s rapid urbanization maintains a steady influx of low wage earners from rural areas seeking better opportunities in urban areas. The

WELCOME TO NAMIBIA! The Himba Tribe is one of the most prominent and fascinating tribes of Namibia, known the world over for preserving their unique cultural identity and age-old traditions for living in a low-water ecosystem. During my road trip across Namibia, I took a little detour to go meet the Himba Tribals in an attempt to understand their lifestyle a little better. This is my way of documenting the experience for the purpose of education about a different culture. WARNING: The Himba ladies are known culturally to have bare exposed chests as part of their attire. While I didn't wish to shock or disrespect my viewers, I do hope they view this video entirely from the perspective of education about a different kind of lifestyle. The dressing sense of the Himba women is in no way a sexual depiction of nudity as it is pretty culturally accepted in their vicinity. Hence I chose to leave the video as it is without blurring any bits. As part of my creator responsibility, I have demonetized this video. Let's hope this will not be a new type of entanglement to be added to our ever growing list of potential death threats to our seals: heavily braided fishing line. We have not seen this type of fishing line entanglement, and we hope it is a once off situation. Braided line is very strong, but has almost no stretch, a terrible combination for entangled animals. We assume that our seal picked up this entangled in the deep sea where heavy braided fishing line is possibly used for long liners, but there is no way of knowing at what place this line was left in the ocean. As always, there are no consequences for fishermen or the fishing industry as a whole.
