There are many silly, cringe-inducing labels attached to Hyundai N’s first ever fully electric performance machine, but the seriousness with which they are deployed will make your brain melt. One of those being the ‘N Grin Boost’ mode which unleashes a very serious power hike from the 5 N’s ‘standard’ 580bhp to 641bhp for 10 seconds, accomplished via its dual electric motors. That means it'll go from 0-62mph in 3.4s and max out at 162mph. There’s also a mode that simulates the behaviour of a DCT gearbox, plus the ability to change the sound emitted by the 5 N: either a straightforward 2.0-litre turbo, something akin to the RN22e concept, or an actual twin-engine fighter jet. But even the most ardent of owners would admit that there was room for improvement. Charging speeds suffered in cold weather and efficiency was little more than average. To address these and other issues, Hyundai has introduced a number of small but significant engineering updates to its 2023 version. The updates include a bigger battery for the long range model along with a new battery preconditioning feature that aims to improve charging speeds in colder conditions. Join Mike as he takes a close look around one of the first new models to land in the UK. Have the changes addressed the early concerns? Should the Ioniq 5 still be at the sharp end of your wish list? Battery Preconditioning update for older Ioniq 5 models If you have an earlier version of the Ioniq 5 and want to take advantage of the new battery pre-conditioning feature, there’s good and bad news. If your car doesn’t have battery heating fitted, then it can’t be applied. If your car does have it, there are three things that need to be updated. The first two have to be done at the dealer. The work is described as a TSB - Technical Service Bulletin and the number you need to quote is: HFE22-17-E080-NE. The official title of the update is: BMU ENHANCEMENT - NE EV BATTERY CONDITIONING FUNCTION AT LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURE (BMS/VCU_2WD_4WD/AVN). Note that this isn’t classified as recall work, so the dealer is within their rights to charge you for their time. Once the two dealer updates have been applied, you’ll need to update your nav system (🤍 You can do this yourself by downloading the update from the Hyundai website, putting the file onto a USB and transferring it to the car. We’ll be covering this more in a future long term update of our own Ioniq 5. De Hyundai IONIQ 5 2023 in deze rijtest video brengt belangrijke veranderingen met zich mee! Eerlijk is eerlijk. Een modeljaar update voor een auto is niet altijd even spannend. De Hyundai IONIQ 2023 komt echter met een zeer welkome update wat je rijervaring daadwerkelijk prettiger maakt. De 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 zoals wij die rijden in de rijtest video is in staat om de accu voor te verwarmen. Dit heet ook wel preconditioneren. Voordat je de elektrische auto aan een snellader hangt worden de batterijen met deze feature van tevoren op temperatuur gebracht. Daardoor kan de auto sneller opladen. In de praktijk betekent dit dat je minder lang bij de snellader staat. Wouter demonstreert de functie in de video. Omdat de Hyundai IONIQ 5 op het E-GMP-platform staat is de EV in staat om razendsnel te snelladen. Deze aandrijflijn is in staat om 400V- en 800V te laden. In de praktijk komt het er op neer dat je bij een 350 kW lader de accu in 18 minuten van 10 naar 80 procent kan laden. Het maximale snellaadvermogen bedraagt 220 kW. Het preconditioneren is niet het enige nieuwtje. Zo is de batterijcapaciteit van de 72,6 kWh accu vergroot naar 77,4 kWh. Ook gaat de 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 door de magische grens van 500 kilometer WLTP. Daarmee komt het opgegeven rijbereik uit op 507 kilometer. In een later stadium komt de IONIQ 5 ook verkrijgbaar met cameraspiegels. Aan de hand van OLED-schermen in het interieur kun je zien wat er naast de auto gebeurd. The styling of the Ionic 5 is pretty retro and stands out quite a bit. It is quirky looking and modern at the same time. The interior of the Ionic 5 was very comfortable with a ton of technology and space. I love how the driver seat reclines and adjust to be a full recliner. Even with a leg rest! The vision roof is a massive glass panoramic roof that opens up the interior quite a bit. Back seats in the Ionic 5 have plenty of space and good amenities and the cargo are is roomy. Overall I enjoyed driving the Ionic 5, it has a lot of power and a smooth ride with everything you need! At $58k it's up there in price but right on par with the Tesla Y and VW ID4. This is a strong competitor. In this video, we take a look at the all new Hyundai IONIC 5. This car is perfect for the urban driver, with a decent amount of electric range and good comfort. We also take a walkaround and drive the car in both first and second gear. Finally, we give our verdict on this new car and share our thoughts on the 2023 Hyundai IONIC 5 Limited AWD.

Questo offre migliori prestazioni di ricarica nelle condizioni ambientali più fredde. La funzione si attiva automaticamente quando un punto di ricarica viene inserito nel sistema di navigazione del veicolo, utilizzando il percorso collegato.
